Hundreds of photographers were given the opportunity to personally experience both the superior image quality possible with Hasselblad integrated digital cameras, and the amazing simplicity of using the camera and Phocus software. It was in fact such a success, that the queues to take part were sometimes a little daunting. However, once onto the stand, visitors were able to use the Hasselblad H3DII-31 and a multitude of lenses, to shoot images on to a CF card, of one of our three models. The photographers were then given a tour of Hasselblad’s Phocus software using their own images, so they were immediately able to see how great the quality was, and more importantly, how easy it was to achieve.
Hasselblad staff on the stand were immensely impressed with the standard of photography achieved by visitors, many of whom were using a Hasselblad for the very first time - “Of course we were very careful in selecting our models, the stylist and the makeup artist to make the experience as interesting as possible for the photographers who took part, but the results that we saw on screen exceeded our expectations” commented Paul Waterworth, Hasselblad (UK) Ltd Northern Sales Manager. “It was very rewarding to see the reaction people had to the camera, preconceptions that it would be difficult or unwieldy were instantly dispelled, and then the realization of seeing the fantastic colour and detail in the images. The feedback we got from people really summed it up - we were told over and over that the experience was not at all what had been expected, that it was simply amazing and so easy to use” added Warren Garbutt, Hasselblad (UK) Ltd Southern Sales Manager.
To enable photographers to continue their experience, and further evaluate and compare images, Hasselblad gave them the pictures they had taken, along with a PC and Mac copy of the Phocus software. Following, the great success of Focus on Imaging for Hasselblad (UK) Ltd, exhibitions like this are not the ideal place to evaluate image quality, so they are now embarking on a series of ‘H3D Studioday’ events around the country.
